By a stroke of luck, Zeta Wilson Jackson read this column and was able to indicate an approximate when the parking permits appeared on campus. Zeta was hired as a teacher aide in 1975 and soon transferred to the residence program, where she stayed until she retired in 2010. She remembers that, in her early career, CSDR employees needed to affix a parking permit to their vehicles in the mid-1970s.

Campus security needed to know if drivers had official business to be on campus at all hours.
All employees were required to have parking permits to park on campus. However, the permits didn’t last long. The unused permits were put away and forgotten for decades. We discovered them in the school archives.
I love the look of the cub. She looks cute and happy.
