Each class year has its slate of officers from freshman through senior. The number of officers could range between four and six depending on class size and student interest.
The class officers’ most important duty is to build a fund through member dues and fundraising for four years. They will eventually need the funds to pay for a senior class gift given to the school and a senior trip to Disneyland. The seniors will also decide who to dedicate their yearbook to.
I was class president for the Class of 1976. I remember the membership due was $20. Our class gift was a trophy case on small wheels to house additional trophies in the old gym with a full trophy case. The trophy case is now in the museum for small items. We have had class gifts given to the school every year since 1956.
Each class has staff class sponsors from both high school and dorms/cottages. The sponsor pictures appear on the bottom of each group picture.
Below are the Class of 2024 officers who graduated in June 2024. They have gone to college or entered the workforce.

Below are the current officers and will graduate in June 2025. We wish them success on their own once they leave.

Below are juniors for the Class of 2026. It is interesting to note parents of three officers (Visco, Gamache and Hencker) are currently working at CSDR or have retired.

The Class of 2027 are all sophomores. In the yesteryears, each class had one or two class sponsors. It is now three, four or five class sponsors for each class.
An interesting change of time.

Below is the first class with officers for the Class of 1956. They went to Catalina Island for a senior trip. The ensuing senior classes until 1975 followed suit. All the following senior classes since 1976 have attended the Grad Night at Disneyland from 10:00 to 6:00 am

Below is the Class of 1971. The class had only one class sponsor, Tom Fishler. Ken Watson, ‘71, serves on the CSDR Alumni Association board. Ken is retired with 35 years of postal service. He volunteers his time coaching football and basketball. Also, he is responsible for the Athletics Hall of Fame admitting the best athletes every five years since 1984. Ken is himself a Hall of Fame athlete.

Below is the Class of 1992. Keith Gamache represents the second generation of the family coming to CSDR. He serves on the CSDRAA board as Secretary. Armed with a PhD degree, he is a professor of American Sign Language at Irvine Valley College.

Below is the Class of 1999. Davis Nguyen on the bottom is on the CSDRAA board as Treasurer. He is employed as an information system specialist at CSDR. He holds three certificates in Computer Information Systems, Windows Operating System and Cybersecurity. It is a plus for deaf employees on campus to be able to communicate easily with Davis on computer issues.

Below is the Class of 2003. Tyler Bayarsky was Vice President for the Class. Years later, she is now Vice President for the CSDRAA until 2028. With a BS degree in Family and Child Studies and state credentials, she wears another hat as a teacher for the Parent Infant program for 0-3 at CSDR.
